                                    A word use to name a person, place, thing, an idea or a quality of noun is defined as a noun. 

OR

                               Noun is a naming word.

Examples:-

                    India is a sub-continent.

                    I enjoy watching bowling.

                    Love and hatred are common in human being.

                    Pain and pleasure go hand in hand.
